The overall weight of the ring is 4.97 grams. The largest central stone is approximately 0.15ct and all three stones are mounted in a 'gypsy setting', in which the stones are embedded in the shank of the ring and flush with the metal. This square shaped locket is marked 9ct Front and Back and 'Silver Setting'. It has space inside for two photographs or other tokens.
The locket measures 2.5cm (1") square, excluding the bamboo style mount and loop. Overall thickness is just 4mm (1/8").
The locket has a few minor dents to one edge on the front and the back is slightly concave with a number of small dents where the locket has been placed in a jewellery box with other items.  | Victorian 9ct Gold and Enamel Double Sided Locket Ref: CAT298 A small Victorian double sided mourning locket with black enamel detail, circa 1880. This is a high quality piece of mourning jewellery, which is intricately engraved both front and back.
As was often the case with Victorian items there are no visible hallmarks. The front and back of the locket are gold of at least 9ct but possibly higher. The centre section, which houses the two pictures, will be gold alloy to give the locket strength. There are two Victorian photographs of a man and woman and the glasses and fittings are original.

Victorian 9ct Gold and Enamel Locket Ref: CAT307 A very well detailed Victorian 9ct gold mourning locket with black enamel, dated 1883.
The front of the locket has a cross, belt and buckle and leaf motif picked out in black enamel. This motif is almost identical to the one used on the Order of the Garter Star. This has a close associated with retired army officers and the locket may have been commissioned in memory of one of these gentlemen. The belt and buckle motif also symbolises friendship or love, as the closed belt implies unity.
The reverse is very finely engraved with another belt and buckle surrounding three initials and beautifully detailed forget me-not-flowers. The reverse is also engraved with the words "Died March 1883. Inside the locket there is a picture of a Victorian gentleman.
The locket measures 3.5cm (excluding loop) and is 2.8cm wide. It is in excellent condition with no dents or loss to the enamel. More Info...

Victorian 9ct Gold and Enamel Locket Ref: CAT309 A very well detailed Victorian 9ct gold mourning locket with black enamel, circa 1880.
The front of the locket has the words 'In Memory Of' picked out in black enamel. In the centre of the locket their is a star design chased into the gold.
The reverse is very finely engraved with flowers surrounding a small cartouche with the letters 'JEB'. Inside the locket their are pictures of a man and woman. The glass over the photograph of the woman has been broken and I have replaced it with acrylic.

 | Vintage 9ct Gold Locket with Rubies Ref: CAT296 A slender vintage 9ct gold front and back locket and chain. The front of the locket is engraved with a flower stem and inset with three small rubies, which are dark red and not blue as they appear in the photograph. The back of the locket is plain and there is a rope work effect around the edge on both sides.
The locket has a slightly pink rose gold colour but is not hallmarked, as was often the case with vintage items. The front and back of the locket are gold of at least 9ct but possibly higher. The centre section, which houses the two pictures, will be gold alloy to give the locket strength. The locket is supplied with a yellow gold chain, which has a flattened profile and is stamped 9ct by the clasp. The chain is 50cm (19-1/2") long.

Vintage 15ct Gold Horseshoe Stickpin Ref: CAT400 A late Victorian or Edwardian 15ct gold stickpin, circa 1900.
Horseshoes are normally thought of as good luck symbols and usually shown with the open end upwards to prevent the luck from falling out. In this orientation, with the open end down, the symbolism is of luck lost and depicts the death of a loved one.

Victorian Rose Gold Faith Hope and Charity Brooch Ref: CAT352 A stunning Victorian rose gold brooch featuring a cross, anchor and heart, representing faith, hope and charity, circa 1880. In the centre of the heart there is a small dark blue sapphire.
There are no Assay marks on the brooch but it has the letters A D stamped on the back.
Known as 'stones of destiny', sapphires are said to contribute to mental clarity and perception and promote financial rewards. The Victorians would also have recognised them as the symbol of heaven and joyful devotion to God.
This is a very intricate and pretty brooch, which features a very common Victorian theme. It may originally have been given to a sweetheart or close relative.
