 | Victorian Silver Locket with Bird Engraving Ref: CAT303
A silver Victorian memento locket with a very well executed engraving of a stork on the front.
Birds in flight were often featured in Victorian jewellery' as they were a popular Art Nouveau design. Storks in particular were seen as the harbingers of happiness and prosperity and also have a close association with
There is space for two photographs but only the right hand side is fitted with an acrylic window and retaining ring. If you wished to have a window fitted to the other side then please contact me.
The locket measures 4cm (1-1/2") by 3cm (1-1/8") wide. The total drop of the pendant, including the large silver bale is 5cm (2").
The locket closes securely and is in very good condition with just a couple of very slight knocks to the back.

Victorian Silver AMG Locket with Picture Ref: CAT551
A Victorian silver locket with the letters AMG, possibly standing for 'All Mighty God'. Inside the locket there is a photograph of a Victorian gentleman.
The locket has raised gothic letters on the front and has the same design engraved on the rear.
Inside the locket there is space for two photographs but only one side is occupied. The locket measures 4.4cm (1-5/8"), excluding the silver bale, and is 3.5cm (1-5/16") wide. It is in good vintage condition with a small dent in the front, at 2 o'clock and a small blemish in the silver on the rear. Other than these small defects the locket is in excellent vintage condition and closes securely with a nice snap.
The locket can be supplied with a choice of cotton and leather thongs in 18" or 20" lengths as well as silver snake chains in 16", 18" and 20" lengths. A Victorian silver mourning locket with cross and monogram. Inside the locket there is a photograph of a young Victorian woman.
The locket has an engraved cross on the front and the back is engraved with letters that look like an M, I and two R's back to back.
Inside the locket there is space for two photographs but only one side is occupied. The locket measures 3.5cm (1-3/8"), excluding the silver bale, and is 2.8cm (1-1/16") wide. It is in excellent vintage condition and closes securely. This is a very slender locket and is just 4mm (1/8") thick.

The brooch has remarkable detail, particularly to the edge. On the rear there is the original pin and 'c' clasp fastening, which is in perfect working order.

 | Victorian Silver Star and Crescent Moon Brooch Ref: CAT396
This very detailed Victorian brooch is made of brass, with what I believe is a silver finish on the front. The coating has a slight gold tone, as can bee seen in the picture, and it seems to change colour slightly from silver to gold depending on the light.
The brooch is very pretty and has remarkable detail. On the reverse the brooch shows the base metal and has a pin and 'c' clasp fastening. It is also stamped with a registered mark (number 55350), which dates the design to 1886
The brooch is approximately 3cm (1-1/4") across and is in excellent vintage condition.

Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1889 and with makers mark 'AJS'.
The back of the brooch has a compartment, which is designed to take a photograph or lock of hair. The compartment has its original glass and is currently empty.
The brooch measures 3.5cms (1-3/8") across and is in good vintage condition, with just a few minor dents to the silver. These marks are noticeable due to the brooch having been cleaned and will become less visible as the silver loses some of its reflective shine. More Info...

A superb quality Victorian silver Mizpah brooch.
The brooch takes the form of two hearts linked by ivy leaves. Ivy symbolises love, luck and friendship. The brooch is fully hallmarked for Chester 1896.
Mizpah brooches are symbols of love and were given as tokens when lovers were to be separated for an extended period. The left hand heart is inscribed with the Mizpah verse taken from the Old Testament Book of Genesis:
'The Lord Watch between Me & Thee, When we are Absent One from Another'.

An Edwardian silver brooch with rose gold detail. The central design features what looks like the Isle of Man symbol. However the legs are in the wrong orientation as they are a mirror image when compared to the IoM flag and crest.
The design of three linked legs is known as a Triscele or Triskele and was an Egyptian symbol of revival. It is also thought to be a solar symbol; an expression of the suns movement in relation to the earth. This association with the sun makes this a portent fro good and a symbol of prosperity and good fortune.
